This app assists in the analysis of album streaming performance. To get started:
Log in to **Luminate** and search for the album you wish to view.
Set the market (e.g., Global, Worldwide) and date range (e.g., Jan 1, 2020 to present).
Scroll down to the "Activity Over Time" section.
Click the ellipses "..." in the top right of that section and select
"Export to CSV".
Repeat these exact steps for the "Activity By Location" section just beneath
it.
2. Uploading Data
Simply click the "Streams Over Time" and "Geography" boxes to upload your exported files. The app
will automatically:
Extract artist and album metadata from the filenames.
Filter out pre-release leading zeros.
Configure the initial analysis window.
3. Analysis Window
Use the date inputs to isolate specific periods of the campaign. The dashboard updates in real-time
as you adjust these ranges.
4. Understanding the Scorecard
Window Total: All streams within your selected date range.
Daily Avg: The average daily streaming volume for that specific window.
Trailing Metrics (7D/30D/365D): Performance snapshots looking back from the
*end* of your selected window.
5. Geographic Analysis
The "Market Concentration" bar shows the percentage of streams from your Top 1 territory vs the Rest
of World (ROW). The pie chart provides a detailed breakdown of your secondary markets.
6. Statistical Concepts (Steady State)
The "Advanced Assumptions" panel uses statistical modeling to detect when an album has entered its
long-tail "Settled" state:
μ (Mu): The underlying growth or decay rate. A positive μ suggests organic
growth, while a negative μ indicates a stable performance trajectory.
σ (Sigma): Volatility. It measures the "bumpiness" of daily data. High sigma
indicates frequent spikes (often from playlisting), while low sigma means predictable
consistency.
7. Future Forecasting
The "Forward Projection" chart uses Monte Carlo Simulations to run 1,000 independent
future paths based on your steady-state data:
P95 (Upper): Optimistic "Best Case" scenario (top 5% of outcomes).
Mean (Center): The mathematically expected average path.
P5 (Lower): Conservative "Floor" (bottom 5% of outcomes).
8. Analyzing a New Album
To analyze a different album, simply refresh the page or click the upload boxes again to swap the
files. The app will reset all calculations for the new data set.
